ETM WORKSHOPS
The ETM Workshop provides teachers and caregivers a “hands on” demonstration on how to implement Enrichment Through Music (ETM) methods and strategies in their home or school using a combination of the “PRE-SCHOOL MOMENTS MATTER CD - CREATURES AND CRITTERS VOLUME 1”, and the accompanying Activity Book (SEE: Music Products for free downloadable sample).
The ETM workshop toolkit is specifically designed to assist both teachers and parents in the important task of providing age appropriate educational benefits for young preschoolers through entertaining and enriching music experiences. These educational foundations consist of the following:
1. CHARACTER, COMPETENCE and COMMUNICATION skills for today's preschooler.
Entertaining and educational songs provide the platform for Inner IQ® activities (movement, fingerplay, dramatic play) and age appropriate discussions that aid in the child's development of the "3 C's" (Character, Competence and Communication).
2. The early development of values. The distinct VALUE CENTER for each song emphasizes an age appropriate enriching and entertaining approach to teaching values through music.
A variety of important preschool values are directly associated with a specific animal creature and/or critter creating a powerful and memorable musical message, for example:
|
Bunny = healthy eating | |
|
Turtle = persistence | |
|
Dolphin = acceptance |
(See Music Products Page for complete listing)
VISUAL AIDS
ETM stresses the importance and effectiveness of Visual Aids. The Workshop demonstrates how to incorporate the VISUAL AIDS (puppets, felt figures and props) into the ETM music program, providing a simple, effective and unique way to both EDUCATE and ENTERTAIN.
The visual aids are simple and accessible items and media that are familiar to the child and developmentally age appropriate. They can be purchased inexpensively from stores and catalogs, or easily made. Templates are provided for the construction of felt figures, stick puppets and props. Their use (as well as basic puppetry) are demonstrated using the CD.
